Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our team at the Indigenous-led RAAM Clinic. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will provide intake and assessment, counselling, referrals, educational sessions, and continuing care services for individuals struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
Key Responsibilities- Provide culturally sensitive and person-centered care to Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members
- Develop and implement treatment plans, and provide ongoing support and guidance to clients
- Collaborate with withdrawal management services, addiction treatment agencies, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Document client information and progress in a clear and concise manner
- Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing education and training
- Completion of a recognized degree or diploma in Social Services or a related health discipline
- Minimum six months of experience working with individuals and families managing addiction
- Basic familiarity with addiction and mental illness presentations, and knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
