Nurse Practitioner

RhynoCare is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the Hamilton area. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Responsibilities- Deliver Excellent Patient Care: Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care, within the scope of practice of an RPN.
- Utilize Sound Nursing Practice: Ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s), adhering to sound nursing practice principles.
- Ensure Timely Admissions and Transfers: Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and its services. Ensure resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
- Manage Medications and Supplies: Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Care: Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Education and Certification: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent. Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses.
- Skills and Qualifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Basic computer proficiency. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Knowledge and Compliance: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes.
- Clearances and Certifications: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests). Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check. Clear Criminal Record check. All staff are required to provide proof of vaccination, adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wear a mask at all times.
