Job SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner will report to the Director of Care and will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care to residents, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and leading research and education initiatives to optimize resident outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive primary care to residents, including health assessments, medication management, and care planning
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement resident care plans
- Lead research and education initiatives to improve resident outcomes and advance evidence-based practice
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Nurse Managers and clinical staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Registered Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or equivalent
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices and long-term care concepts
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Post-graduate education and experience in gerontology (recommended)
- Specialty certification in gerontological nursing (recommended)
- Experience working as a Nurse Practitioner and in long-term care (preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide leadership and supervision
