We are seeking a skilled Payroll Coordinator to join our team at BWX Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently processing a weekly payroll in SAP HCM and Sage Timberline, meeting all deadlines and ensuring compliance with Union Contracts and SOX audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform time balancing and upload.
- Ensure compliance with Union Contracts, including payments, fringes, and final payments.
- Adhere to strict compliance with SOX audit requirements.
- Prepare payroll journal entries for upload to SAP GEP and other journal entries and accruals as needed.
- Process payments for CRA remittance, EHT, Savings Plans, and some Union payments as needed.
- Distribute regular weekly/monthly reports and ad-hoc reports.
- Prepare ROE using ROE on the Web.
- Resolve pay-related issues.
- Administer garnishments, including set-up, monitoring, and remittance.
- Monitor and reconcile relevant payroll accounts in the general ledger.
- Balancing, preparation, and filing of T4 and T4A's.
- Perform GL account reconciliations.
Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of payroll processes and procedures acquired through a minimum of one year hands-on experience.
- Completion of CPA's PCP designation.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll software, SAP HCM, and preferably Sage 300 Construction Payroll.
- Experience with hourly payroll.
- Experience processing payroll for a unionized workplace.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of related provincial and federal government legislation.
- Sound knowledge of taxation issues related to payroll.
- Accounting experience is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to meet ongoing deadlines.
