We are seeking a skilled Payroll Coordinator to join our team at BWX Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently processing a weekly payroll in SAP HCM and Sage Timberline, meeting all deadlines and ensuring compliance with Union Contracts and SOX audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform time balancing and upload.
  • Ensure compliance with Union Contracts, including payments, fringes, and final payments.
  • Adhere to strict compliance with SOX audit requirements.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries for upload to SAP GEP and other journal entries and accruals as needed.
  • Process payments for CRA remittance, EHT, Savings Plans, and some Union payments as needed.
  • Distribute regular weekly/monthly reports and ad-hoc reports.
  • Prepare ROE using ROE on the Web.
  • Resolve pay-related issues.
  • Administer garnishments, including set-up, monitoring, and remittance.
  • Monitor and reconcile relevant payroll accounts in the general ledger.
  • Balancing, preparation, and filing of T4 and T4A's.
  • Perform GL account reconciliations.

Requirements:

  • Solid knowledge of payroll processes and procedures acquired through a minimum of one year hands-on experience.
  • Completion of CPA's PCP designation.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll software, SAP HCM, and preferably Sage 300 Construction Payroll.
  • Experience with hourly payroll.
  • Experience processing payroll for a unionized workplace.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of related provincial and federal government legislation.
  • Sound knowledge of taxation issues related to payroll.
  • Accounting experience is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to meet ongoing deadlines.
