This Role and What You Will Do
Reporting to the Supervisor, Project Payroll, you will perform a variety of routine clerical and administrative duties in support of the payroll department.
This is a contract opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Collect and verify daily labour timesheets for data payroll entry and processing.
- Daily filing and maintaining accurate records.
- Responsibility for the time and attendance system, including employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Daily input of Hourly/Salary time and cross-checking of daily input.
- Tracking errors from sites and employee data collection for hire processing.
- Employee personal data, direct deposit, and tax forms.
- Employee termination submission and follow-up with union bodies.
- Multi-tasking and working within time constraints.
- Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the payroll department.
- Team player, flexible, and able to work well with site team members.
- Interactions with union groups, human resources, and site teams.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Any other duties as assigned by his/her manager.
- Coordinate with General Foreman, Project Accountants, and other stakeholders to ensure effective payroll processing and maintain filing systems.
- Maintain employee information, including labour qualifications and certifications, training, and other relevant documents.
- Assist project controls in tracking, monitoring, and analyzing productivity data and project costs.
- Perform all payroll duties, including verifying and submitting timesheets, audit reports, and preparing new employee packages and termination/layoff forms.
What We Are Looking For
- Post-secondary education.
- Working towards a CPA designation.
- Knowledge of trade unions is an asset.
- Experience with payroll data entry, SAP, and Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Accurate and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
