Capital Projects Manager

About the Role
The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the concurrent management of multiple capital and client-funded projects within our portfolio of owned and leased facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams comprised of internal and external professionals, client representatives, senior officials, and supporting agencies through all phases of assigned projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Develop and implement project plans, including defining project scope, budgeting, scheduling, tendering, and providing ongoing technical advice.
- Oversee and manage project financials, including controlling and administering contracts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate project risks, and develop strategies to address them.
- Ensure compliance with current Building Codes, legislation, and industry best practices related to accessibility and sustainable construction practices.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in construction project management or a related field (including Interior Design, Architecture, Facility Management, and Engineering).
- Experience coordinating and planning all phases of construction and facility-related projects, including defining project scope, budgeting, scheduling, tendering, implementation, and providing ongoing technical advice.
- Strong leadership and management skills to empower staff to achieve results, leverage opportunities for innovation, find creative solutions to issues, and successfully manage change.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong political acumen with the ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material and situations in an appropriate manner.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical and non-technical correspondence and reports.
- Strong verbal communication skills to present complex information to a wide variety of stakeholders.
