Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations of Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services (AAFS). This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement financial systems, provide financial and accounting services, and ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Provide financial and accounting services, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, including the Broader Public Sector Directives
  • Provide technical support to the Executive Director, Transferred Agencies, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee
  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports and schedules for review by the Executive Director
Requirements:
  • Expert knowledge of financial systems, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to speak Ojibway is preferred and a definite asset
