Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to join our team at Northwest Employment Works. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our organization and supporting our Board of Directors to ensure we are working towards our Vision and Mandate.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Oversight: You will be responsible for overseeing the human and financial obligations of our organization, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effectively.
  2. Program Funding: You will negotiate for program funding to support our initiatives and ensure that we have the resources needed to achieve our goals.
  3. Advocacy: You will advocate for justice services for our clients and communities, working to ensure that their needs are met and their rights are protected.
  4. Relationship Building: You will build and maintain healthy relationships with partners, stakeholders, and community leaders, working to advance our organization's interests and goals.
Qualifications
  • Education: You must possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in law, business administration, finance, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience: You must have a minimum of 5 years' management experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: You must have education and/or equivalent experience in the Ontario Legal system, as well as familiarity with the geographical area of our communities.
  • Skills: You must have excellent public speaking skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Language: You must be willing and able to communicate about law-related and traditional issues, and have the ability to speak Ojibway, Oji-Cree, or Cree is a definite asset.
