About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Academy Principal to lead our business unit in Canada. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing and executing strategic plans, and leading a team of Project Leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Growth and Development
    • Develop and execute annual business plans and budgets to drive business growth
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships
    • Lead the development of strategic plans to achieve business objectives
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and manage a team of Project Leaders to achieve business objectives
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge
    • Coach and mentor team members to achieve their full potential
  • Operational Excellence
    • Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness
    • Lead the implementation of quality management systems to ensure high-quality deliverables
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators to drive business improvement
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry associations
    • Represent the company at industry events and conferences
    • Provide thought leadership and expertise to drive business growth and development
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations leadership and business unit growth, preferably in professional services
  • Professional industry credentials or MBA (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • Experience managing a portion of a high-growth P&L to Plan
  • Clear understanding of a professional services business model, including workforce composition and resource management strategies, risk management strategies, and commercial strategies
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to successfully lead teams and develop/implement operational plans for corporate initiatives
  • Leadership experience in the diversification of a business and the development of new market opportunities
  • The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook, demonstrate an energetic disposition, and motivate teams to achieve business growth ambitions
  • An established network of industry contacts and relationships within the region as well as involvement with applicable regional industry and trade associations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills including a proven ability to write winning proposals and win competitive interviews
