Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC). As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in our Emergency Department, providing care to patients across the lifespan, including those with complex medical conditions. You will be responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, interventions, and education
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in discharge planning and patient education
  • Document patient care and respond to incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one (1) year recent experience working in a related area of care
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to caring for patients in the Emergency Department
