Clinical Interventionist

The IWK Health Centre is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Interventionist to join our team in the Provincial Preschool Autism Service. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Sydney and Middleton.
Job SummaryThe Clinical Interventionist will provide assessment and intervention services to preschool-age children with autism and their families. This will involve facilitating goal-setting processes, developing and implementing intervention plans, and providing direct supervision to Program Implementers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment and intervention services to preschool-age children with autism and their families
- Facilitate goal-setting processes and develop and implement intervention plans
- Provide direct supervision to Program Implementers
- Work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to provide comprehensive services to children and families
- Participate in quality improvement and innovation initiatives related to processes and practice
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Board-certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia
- Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle
- CPR certification within the last 12 months and certification in First Aid
- Two years recent experience working with children with autism (ages 0-6 years old) and their families
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for children with autism
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and ability to provide assessment and development, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of intervention plans
- Demonstrated ability to work within an interprofessional collaborative practice framework and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain internal/external partnerships
- Demonstrated excellent time management, organization, and solution-focused skills
- Demonstrated excellence in supervision of intervention by other levels of healthcare provider
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to family-centered care
- Committed to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health
- Education, training, and/or experience in evidence-based autism interventions an asset
- Demonstrated ability to participate in quality improvement and innovation initiatives related to processes and practice
- Competencies in other languages an asset
