About the Position

Provincial Preschool Autism Services:
The Clinical Interventionist will be instrumental in offering extensive support to preschool-aged children diagnosed with autism and their families. Key duties include evaluation, program design, and the coordination of therapeutic interventions.

Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention Program:
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Interventionist will implement treatment strategies for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder utilizing evidence-based methodologies such as Pivotal Response Treatment. This role also encompasses providing guidance and resources to families.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform assessments and create tailored intervention strategies
  • Deliver clinical oversight and support to implementation teams
  • Engage with families and healthcare professionals to meet developmental objectives
  • Contribute to quality enhancement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or BCBA certification
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with a professional regulatory body in Nova Scotia
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with autism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Dedication to family-centered care and ongoing professional development
