We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Interventionist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Clinical Interventionist, you will play a critical role in providing assessment, intervention, and support to preschool-age children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of preschool-age children with ASD and their families.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address the needs of children and their families.
- Provide direct supervision to Program Implementers and contribute to the development of the Provincial Preschool Autism Service.
- Collaborate with an interprofessional team to provide person and family-centred services to preschoolers across Nova Scotia.
- Participate in quality improvement and innovation initiatives related to processes and practice.
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Board-certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body in Nova Scotia.
- Valid minimal Class 5 Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- CPR certification within the last 12 months and certification in First Aid.
- Two years recent experience working with children with autism (ages 0-6 years old) and their families.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in intervention for children with autism.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and ability to provide assessment and development, implementation, monitoring, and coordination of intervention plans to address parent goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work within an interprofessional collaborative practice framework and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
