We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our team at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa. As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer professional and friendly service to all guests, responding timely to any special requests
  • Provide intuitive service, engaging with external and internal guests and anticipating their needs
  • Assist Room Attendants to ensure guest rooms are prepared efficiently
  • Respond timely to guests' special requests for miscellaneous items
  • Clean all assigned areas, including sanitizing, dusting, and maintaining exterior cleanliness
  • Collect dirty linen, garbage, and recyclables from Room Attendants' carts and closets
  • Maintain inventory in the Housekeeping closets
  • Foster positive cross-departmental relationships to create a seamless experience
  • Follow detailed housekeeping standards and departmental policies
Requirements
  • Warm and caring personality; previous housekeeping experience an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
Physical Aspects of the Position

This role requires constant standing and walking throughout the shift, as well as frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps may also be required.
