About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Houseperson to join our team at Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa. As a Houseperson, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of service and quality in our guest rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to guests, responding promptly to their needs and requests.
  • Assist Room Attendants in preparing guest rooms efficiently, ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.
  • Clean and maintain all assigned areas, including guest rooms, public areas, and exterior spaces.
  • Collect and process dirty linen, garbage, and recyclables from Room Attendants' carts and closets.
  • Maintain inventory in Housekeeping closets and report any necessary maintenance items.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues across departments to create a seamless experience for our guests.
  • Follow detailed housekeeping standards, safety protocols, and departmental policies.

Requirements:

  • Warm and caring personality, with previous housekeeping experience an asset.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Good command of the English language.

Working Conditions:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
