Survey Engineer

Job Summary:
Next Power Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Survey Engineer to join our team. As a Survey Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting economic analyses, feasibility studies, and developing procedures to clean up contaminated sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct economic analyses to identify potential environmental impacts and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of construction projects and identify potential risks.
- Develop procedures to clean up contaminated sites and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Plan and design highway/roadway projects, taking into account environmental factors and community needs.
- Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct site visits to gather relevant information and assess environmental conditions.
- Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data to develop topographic, soil, hydrological, or other information and prepare reports.
- Develop construction specifications and procedures to ensure that projects meet environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations.
- Establish and monitor construction work schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials to minimize environmental impact.
- Interpret, review, and approve survey and civil design work to ensure that it meets environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
- Offer mentoring and training to junior staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.
Requirements:
Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
