Job Summary:

Next Power Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Survey Engineer to join our team. As a Survey Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting economic analyses, feasibility studies, and developing procedures to clean up contaminated sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct economic analyses to identify potential environmental impacts and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  2. Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of construction projects and identify potential risks.
  3. Develop procedures to clean up contaminated sites and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Plan and design highway/roadway projects, taking into account environmental factors and community needs.
  5. Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  6. Conduct site visits to gather relevant information and assess environmental conditions.
  7. Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data to develop topographic, soil, hydrological, or other information and prepare reports.
  8. Develop construction specifications and procedures to ensure that projects meet environmental and regulatory requirements.
  9. Ensure that construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations.
  10. Establish and monitor construction work schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time.
  11. Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials to minimize environmental impact.
  12. Interpret, review, and approve survey and civil design work to ensure that it meets environmental and regulatory requirements.
  13. Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  14. Offer mentoring and training to junior staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties.

Requirements:

Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
