About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Engineer to join our team at Next Power Inc. As a Survey Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our survey data, which is essential for the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Economic Analyses: Conduct thorough economic analyses to identify potential risks and opportunities for our projects.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of our projects and identify potential challenges.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to gather relevant information and ensure that our projects are executed in accordance with our plans and specifications.
  • Technical Analyses: Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data to develop topographic, soil, hydrological, or other information and prepare reports.
  • Construction Specifications: Develop construction specifications and procedures to ensure that our projects are executed in accordance with our plans and specifications.
  • Project Supervision: Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work, ensuring that our projects are executed in accordance with our plans and specifications.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Mentoring: Offer mentoring and coaching to junior engineers and technicians to ensure their professional development and growth.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, such as surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required.
  • Cultural Competency: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, including Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, and newcomers.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and ability to understand the commercial aspects of our projects.
