About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Engineer to join our team at Next Power Inc. As a Survey Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our survey data, which is essential for the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Economic Analyses: Conduct thorough economic analyses to identify potential risks and opportunities for our projects.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of our projects and identify potential challenges.
  • Site Cleanup: Develop procedures to clean up contaminated sites, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and the surrounding community.
  • Highway/Roadway Projects: Plan and design highway/roadway projects, taking into account factors such as traffic flow, safety, and environmental impact.
  • Project Supervision: Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to gather relevant information and ensure that our projects are being executed according to plan.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports.
  • Construction Specifications: Develop construction specifications and procedures, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Construction Plans: Ensure that construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations.
  • Construction Schedules: Establish and monitor construction work schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time.
  • Material Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials, ensuring that our projects are executed with the highest quality materials.
  • Survey and Civil Design: Interpret, review and approve survey and civil design work, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates.
  • Mentoring: Offer mentoring to junior engineers and technicians, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their roles.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Registration: Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support for Youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
  • Support for Veterans: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Veterans.
