About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Niagara Children's Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing assessment, treatment, and support to children and youth with communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and identify communication difficulties in children and youth, including language, speech, fluency, voice/resonance, hearing, and pragmatics.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance communication skills and participation.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
  • Work with children and youth with complex profiles of needs, delivering an interdisciplinary approach to care in partnership with community agencies.
  • Provide education and training to families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals on communication strategies and techniques.
Requirements
  • Registration and membership in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Post-secondary degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Sound understanding of speech language therapy among children and youth.
  • Ability to identify goals and establish appropriate treatment plans to achieve said goals with children, youth, families, and other care providers.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Current CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certifications.
  • Bilingualism considered an asset.
