The Opportunity

Zurich Canada is seeking a talented Underwriting Associate to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in supporting our underwriters in evaluating and managing risk for our clients.

This is a unique opportunity to build your knowledge and experience in the insurance industry, working with a leading global insurance provider. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and develop your skills in risk management, underwriting, and policy administration.

As an Underwriting Associate, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions. You will also collaborate with underwriters to accurately quote and issue policies, and provide account servicing support to clients.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about risk management and underwriting. If you have a strong analytical mind and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate risk exposures, controls, loss history, and financial condition to aid underwriting decisions
  • Collaborate with underwriters to accurately quote and issue policies
  • Provide account servicing support to clients
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of insurance products and services

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. business, finance, risk management)
  • 0-2 years of experience in a related field (e.g. insurance, risk management, underwriting)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
