About the Role


Zurich Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Energy Underwriter to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our underwriting department, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and managing risks for our clients.


Key Responsibilities



  • Analyze new and renewal business using The Zurich Way of Underwriting framework and within delegated authority levels on assignment of higher technical complexity and coordination.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition.
  • Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
  • Support the sales culture by being a point of contact for brokers and customers.
  • Negotiate Terms & Conditions and close deals.
  • Cross-Sell other lines of business to increase product density with the account.

Requirements



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area. OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Salary Range


The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
