Indigenous Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Family Protection and Support Worker.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with Indigenous children, youth, and families in a supportive and protective capacity. As a Family Protection and Support Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering positive outcomes for families who become involved in the child welfare system.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate allegations of child abuse and/or neglect.
- Culturally sensitive assessments and investigations with community members and other sources.
- Collaborate with families and communities to develop service plans.
- Identify immediate and long-term risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and maintain effective casework relationships with families and communities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field or a minimum of three years relevant experience working with children, youths, and families.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes extended health and dental coverage, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
