Job Summary

The Thompson Rivers University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the enhancement of teaching and learning across the institution. As a Strategic Education Leader, you will provide strategic leadership to faculty on a wide range of teaching and learning matters, collaborating with administrators and teaching assistants to design and coordinate relevant functions, activities, events, and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support faculty in developing effective and innovative pedagogical practices through individual and group consultations, workshops, and other events.
  • Contribute to the actioning of the CELT Strategic Plan.
  • Lead the process of innovative change to develop and ensure best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Promote the scholarship of teaching and learning and advocate for scholarly teaching.
  • Act as a resource in emerging areas in post-secondary teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate to design, promote, and provide professional development opportunities for faculty.
  • Contribute to and collaborate on relevant institutional initiatives such as learning outcomes, curriculum design, assessment, course evaluation, and accreditation.
  • Participate on committees where teaching and learning are integral.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise and excellence in teaching, experience in curriculum development at the degree level, and a strong knowledge of current practices and trends in the field. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team.

The successful candidate will also have demonstrated a commitment to the goals of the Centre and have teaching and leadership experience, effective written and verbal communication, and experience mentoring and working with undergraduate and graduate students.
