As a member of our Commercial division, you will be responsible for assisting the Client Executive with client management requirements, focusing on retention of assigned book of business.

Your Day as a Strategic Commercial Insurance Leader

  • Proactively manage client relationships, reviewing exposures, gaps in coverage, and loss history to propose appropriate coverages and/or solutions.
  • Develop account strategies, presentations, and proposals with the Client Executive.
  • Provide exceptional client service, handling daily requests and coverage changes.
  • Maintain maximum retention of the book of business.
  • Collaborate with a Client Service Assistant to ensure accurate and timely issuance of certificates of insurance.
  • Review contracts to ensure the insurance program meets requirements and work with insurers to amend coverages or obtain agreement.
  • Establish procedures for claims administration and loss prevention activities.

Marketing Excellence

  • Manage the marketing process in close collaboration with the Client Executive.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive underwriting submissions.
  • Negotiate best terms for new and renewal business.
  • Endorse policy wordings based on client requests.
  • Work with insurers to provide coverage solutions that meet changing client needs.
  • Ensure accuracy of renewal documentation and issue manuscript policies when required.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and train the Client Service Assistant on internal procedures and develop their general insurance knowledge.
  • Proofread and expedite internal and external documents in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Client Service Assistant to follow up on outstanding client accounts receivables.
  • Meet regularly with BFL Compliance to review accounts and procedures.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date policy files and electronic records.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and underwriter requests.
  • Participate in industry events and targeted public relations activities.
  • Maintain important market relationships.
  • Adhere to BFL policies and procedures, including security and quality standards.

We're Looking for a Strong Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience or relevant education.
  • Level 2 license (insurance designation, CIP or CAIB preferred) or working towards the designation.
  • Maintenance of licensing requirements and continuing education.
  • Detailed-oriented individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and a desire for growth.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

The estimated salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on factors such as prior experience, location, and relevance of skills to the position.
