Position Overview

The Thompson Rivers University Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to provide strategic leadership in enhancing teaching and learning across the institution.

This key role will focus on supporting faculty in developing effective and innovative pedagogical practices, contributing to the actioning of the CELT Strategic Plan, and promoting the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to faculty on teaching and learning matters.
  • Collaborate with TRU faculty, administrators, and teaching assistants to design and coordinate teaching and learning initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative pedagogies, learning outcomes, and technology-enhanced learning strategies.
  • Lead the process of change to develop and ensure best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Act as a resource in emerging areas in post-secondary teaching and learning.
  • Design, promote, and provide professional development opportunities for faculty.
  • Contribute to and collaborate on relevant institutional initiatives, including learning outcomes, curriculum design, assessment, course evaluation, and accreditation.
  • Participate on committees where teaching and learning are integral.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise and excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in curriculum development at the degree level.
  • Strong knowledge of current practices and trends in the field.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
