Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team at Island Health. As a Dietitian, you will play a critical role in managing the nutritional needs of patients with chronic diseases and providing adult education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC) and eligibility for membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC)
  • Develop and implement nutrition care plans for patients with chronic diseases
  • Provide adult education and counseling on healthy eating habits and disease management
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Travel to various locations to provide services, requiring the use of a personal vehicle and a valid BC driver's license
Requirements
  • Master's degree in dietetics or a related field
  • Completion of a recognized dietetic internship at an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years of recent experience in managing the nutritional needs of patients with chronic diseases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records

  • Working knowledge of community resources and primary health care principles
  • Facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Case management, clinical support, and consultation skills
