Job Title: Retail Store Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Store Supervisor to join our team at A.K. Garg Enterprises Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Retail Store Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and motivate a team of sales associates, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.
  • Assign Sales Workers: Effectively allocate tasks and responsibilities to sales associates to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Hire and Train: Recruit, train, and develop sales associates to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Authorize Payments: Process payments and manage cash handling procedures to maintain accuracy and security.
  • Order Merchandise: Coordinate the receipt and storage of merchandise, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Establish Work Schedules: Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing and minimize labor costs.
  • Sell Merchandise: Provide excellent customer service, promoting and selling merchandise to meet sales targets.
  • Resolve Issues: Address customer complaints, supply shortages, and other issues that may arise, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Organize Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely restocking and minimizing stockouts.
  • Supervise and Coordinate: Oversee the activities of sales associates, ensuring they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage Cash: Handle cash transactions, manage cash handling procedures, and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews: Regularly evaluate sales associates' performance, providing feedback and coaching to improve their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced retail environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, flexible, organized, reliable, team player, dependable, initiative, and ability to multitask.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in programs that support the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees.
  • Assist with Immediate Settlement Needs: Assist with housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing needs.
  • Support Social and Labour Market Integration: Facilitate access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Recruit Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by conflict or natural disaster.
  • Support Foreign Credential Recognition: Assist with recognizing foreign credentials and qualifications.
  • Offer Mentorship Programs: Pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees for mentorship and support.
  • Provide Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Offer training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
Support for Youths:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in programs that support youth employment.
  • Offer On-the-Job Training: Provide tailored on-the-job training for youth.
  • Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and Networking Opportunities: Pair youth with experienced employees for mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities.
  • Provide Awareness Training: Offer training to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in programs that support Indigenous people.
  • Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and Networking Opportunities: Pair Indigenous workers with experienced employees for mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities.
  • Develop and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations.
  • Provide Cultural Competency Training: Offer training to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Facilitate Access to Elders: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: Participate in programs that support members of visible minorities.
  • Apply Hiring Policies: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
  • Offer Mentorship Programs: Pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees for mentorship and support.
  • Provide Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Offer training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
