Job Description

This strategic role plays a crucial part in bridging our product strategy with sales and marketing tactics to drive success. Working closely with our Chief Product Officer (CPO), you'll be the product evangelist, organizing product launches and collaborating with our marketing team to develop innovative programs that drive demand. Your attention to detail and ability to grasp and present our products' value proposition will make you successful in this position.

Responsibilities
  • Value Proposition: Understand each product's value proposition, vision, and benefits, turning that information into compelling messages for customers, prospects, and internal audiences.
  • User Personas: Develop user and buyer personas, becoming the expert on our buyers, who they are, how they buy, and their key buying criteria.
  • Research: Research the market to learn the competitive environment, including competitor functionality, pricing, marketing content, and strategies, being the expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
  • Customer Interviews: Perform research through focus groups, surveys, interviews, and analysis of sales data.
  • Create Marketing Material: Work with the marketing team to create materials that highlight product features and benefits.
  • Support Sales: Train the sales teams to articulate each product's benefits to prospects, developing internal tools and external collateral and teaching sales how and when to use them.
  • Marketing Plan and Product Launches: Help develop the go-to-market strategy, working with the marketing team to create a marketing plan for the products you support, including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  • Ready to Launch: Ensure that new products are ready to be launched and adhere to brand guidelines, working with technical writers to create user documentation, instructional designers to create user training material, making sure internal staff have been trained, and collaborating with marketing to ensure a marketing plan is in place.
  • Measure and Improvement: Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, reporting back on required changes.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in a SAAS environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, business administration, communication, marketing, or other related courses.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including copywriting and salesmanship.
  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack and Salesforce.
  • Power user of networking tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Deep understanding of sales methods and channels in a SAAS environment.
  • Ability to influence teams and customers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with sales, marketing, executive, and production teams to meet customer needs.
  • Presentation skills and the ability to explain marketing strategies to other teams in the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and be the expert in product marketing within the organization.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health spending account and employee assistance program, 3 weeks vacation, education subsidies, and more.
