Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Strategic Communications and Ceremonies to join our team at undisclosed. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to advance our institution's strategic vision and support key executives, faculties, and services in fulfilling their mandates.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication frameworks, processes, and workflows to ensure consistent and effective internal and external communications.

• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies for ceremonies and events to support our institution's priorities.

• Provide operational leadership to the Strategic Communications and Ceremonies teams to ensure proactive planning and alignment with our institution's goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with the chief communications and public affairs officer and senior leadership team to identify clear institutional priorities and develop comprehensive strategies to advance our strategic vision.

• Act as an expert advisor to key University executives and provide leadership to communications units within faculties and services to elevate the whole and ensure alignment with our reputational goals.

• Develop and implement content strategies to improve our University's profile across all media channels and help our executive leaders and research experts build reputation, credibility, authority, and trust.

• Lead discussions and work with partners within the Office of Communications and Public Affairs and across the institution to build content strategies that meet our University's goals.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in communications, journalism, or language studies, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in providing strategic communications advice to senior executives.

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in managing and leading teams and managing budgets.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages.

• Extensive experience in anticipating and addressing communication risks and managing sensitive and complex issues and crises in large organizations.
