Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner

Eastlink is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with leaders to define needs, provide input to the development of people strategies, and deliver the highest level of People & Culture services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and understand business issues and provide advice and expertise to develop short-term and long-term business strategies, solutions, and action plans.
  • Act as an advisor by providing guidance and coaching on sensitive and complex HR issues, ensuring compliance with Eastlink policies, Employment Standards, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support leaders on performance and attendance management by partnering to develop success plans for team members.
  • Lead investigations regarding concerns brought forward by following equitable processes.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset and look for opportunities to increase the return on investment of people programs and improve the employee experience.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends and best practices in HR and liaise with HR peers to ensure policies and procedures stay current and market competitive.
  • Understand the needs of Eastlink to provide proactive HR support and services aligned to those needs and the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic plans.
  • Prepare letters and documentation to leaders and guide discussions regarding various employee relations situations.
  • Foster Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility in practices and processes while leading the Employment Equity Committee.
  • Lead the Employment Equity Plan by preparing the annual report (data/narrative) and creating and supporting the three (3) plan employment equity strategic plan.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant and progressive experience as an HRBP with a strong understanding of all HR functions.
  • Completion of an HR Management degree/diploma.
  • A Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) designation or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience working with Employment Equity plans and/or committees.
  • Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset.
  • Experience working at senior management level within HR ideally in a partnership role.
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple departments and department heads.
  • Ability to influence business and HR colleagues and think long term.
  • Recognizes and values personal and cultural differences.
  • Strong customer focus and employee experience mindset.
