As part of our mission, we are seeking a Senior Advisor, Communications and External Relations to play a pivotal role in shaping our external communication strategies and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. This position is integral to aligning our communication efforts with Medavie Blue Cross's strategic objectives and values.

Position Overview:
The Senior Advisor will be responsible for crafting and executing communication strategies that promote our organizational goals and enhance our public image. This role will involve developing public relations initiatives aimed at building trust and engagement within the communities we serve.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive external communication strategies that support Medavie Blue Cross's business objectives.
  • Lead community engagement initiatives and report on their impact.
  • Oversee the creation and refinement of content for various communication channels, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage brand reputation and generate relevant content for target audiences.
  • Provide strategic communication counsel to business partners and senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute environment, social, and governance strategies.
  • Enhance community relations to strengthen Medavie Blue Cross's reputation.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for communication and engagement activities.
  • Advise on best practices for communicating organizational changes and innovations.
  • Ensure alignment between internal and external communication messages.
  • Create effective communication strategies to support various business initiatives.
  • Manage day-to-day communication and external relations activities.
  • Support crisis communication efforts as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in strategic communications, with a degree in Communications or Public Relations.
  • Ability to work on-site a minimum of three days per week.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing communication strategies in dynamic environments.
  • Experience in community engagement across diverse audiences.
  • Strong advisory skills for senior leaders, with a focus on addressing business needs.
  • Professional handling of sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Collaborative team player with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Adept at transforming complex information into accessible and engaging content.
  • Strong time management abilities, capable of juggling multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a virtual team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel occasionally.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
