About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our trucking company, North Eastern Trucking Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the company, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives, including allocating resources, managing budgets, and formulating policies.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage a team of staff in various areas of responsibility, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Financial Management: Establish and manage financial controls, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Human Resources: Develop and implement HR strategies, including recruitment, training, and employee development.
  • Technology and Systems: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology systems, including MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Windows.
  • Security and Safety: Ensure the company's security and safety protocols are in place and adhered to, including conducting regular risk assessments and implementing measures to mitigate risks.
  • Work Environment and Physical Capabilities: Manage the work environment to ensure a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a focus on attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and represent the company in a professional manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
