Job Opportunity: Treatment Nurse
About the Role:
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is seeking a qualified Treatment Nurse to join our team in La Ronge, SK. As a Treatment Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to participants, evaluate their progress, and update their care plans accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to participants, including sterile dressings, injections, medication administration, and monitoring vital signs.
- Evaluate participant progress and update care plans based on nursing assessments.
- Perform nursing treatments and procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Transcribe medications to the medication administration record (MAR) and update weekly.
- Develop comprehensive care plans, monitor, and adjust participant care as needed.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and document relevant information on their health records.
- Act as a participant advocate and liaison between community programs and LLRIB.
- Consult with Woodland Wellness Centre team members and other health professionals as needed.
- Provide information and resources to participants to promote their safety and well-being.
- Adhere to policies, standards, procedures, and nursing practices as outlined in Saskatchewan First Nations Guidelines for Home Care Nursing Policy and Procedure.
Requirements:
- Registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS) or CRNS or RPNAS.
- In good standing with the CLPNS, or CRNS or RPNAS.
- Minimum two years of experience required.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to speak/understand Cree would be an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and own a reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory and recent Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Driver's Abstract.
