**Job Summary:**
As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tests and procedures related to biochemistry and hematology in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results that inform diagnosis and treatment decisions. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care and outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities:*** Conduct routine and complex laboratory tests in biochemistry and hematology departments* Maintain equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance and accuracy* Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure reliable test results* Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to resolve issues and improve workflows* Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and new technologies* Adhere to regulatory requirements and guidelines for laboratory testing and patient safety

**Required Skills and Qualifications:*** Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field* Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)* 3-5 years of experience in a core laboratory environment, preferably in biochemistry and hematology* Strong working knowledge of routine automated equipment and instrumentation* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently during off-hours* Positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional patient care* Fluency in English language; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English required* Physical stamina to perform duties of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights

**Estimated Salary:** $42,480 - $56,316 per annum
