Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Registered Nurse in the Perinatal Transition Line at Royal Columbian Hospital, located in New Westminster. As a member of the Fraser Health team, you will have the chance to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the growth and development of our organization.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess patients and collect information from various sources using skills of observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
  2. Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers in developing the care plan and encourage family participation in the development, implementation, and ongoing modification of the care plan.
  3. Participate in the care and discharge planning process for patients on admission by ensuring the care plan is established, implemented, and evaluated effectively.
  4. Coordinate nursing care for the patient; set priorities, assign and delegate tasks to support staff, and make referrals to the interprofessional care team according to established protocols and practice standards.
  5. Collaborate with members of the interprofessional care team, including Physicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Patient Care Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Educators, and other healthcare professionals/providers in the identification and resolution of issues, adjustments to care plans as required, and in regard to changes in patient condition.
Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Completion of the applicable postgraduate specialty nursing course/program and/or willingness to complete the applicable postgraduate specialty nursing courses/program.

Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
