About the Role

DIRTT is a global leader in industrialized construction, and we're seeking a highly motivated Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Coordination
    • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies in accordance with applicable regulations.
    • Conduct safety training and manage safety-related documentation.
    • Coordinate safety orientations and manage certificates.
    • Collaborate with the Safety Advisors and Director to plan and execute safety training programs.
    • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, accidents, and near misses.
    • Prepare reports and facilitate root cause analysis for management and regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and accessible.
    • Manage and update safety documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS) and safety manuals.
    • Monitor and report on safety compliance and performance metrics.
    • Assist in emergency response planning and participate in safety drills and exercises.
    • Stay current with industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to workplace safety.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Act as a point of contact for employees to report safety concerns and provide guidance on safety-related inquiries.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of our business.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance safety and compliance.
    • Contribute to the development of safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience in workplace health and safety is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in safety recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and mitigate safety risks.
