**Job Summary**

Island Health is seeking a full-time General Internal Medicine specialist to join our team at the Comox Valley Campus of the North Island Hospital. As a General Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our medical services.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions
  • Participate in the medicine call schedule, including night call and cross-covering the community-level ICU
  • Engage in an outpatient general internal medicine practice to support the growing need for internal medicine services in our community
  • Interpret hospital-based ECGs, Holter monitors, and Exercise Stress tests
  • Contribute to local educational activities, including teaching UBC medical students, Family Practice residents, and Internal Medicine residents
  • Participate in coordinating multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives

**Requirements**

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) certification or equivalent
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
