Job Title: General Internist

The Comox Valley Campus of Island Health is seeking a full-time General Internal Medicine specialist. The successful applicant will join a collegial group of internists and contribute to the growth of internal medicine services in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide inpatient GIM coverage, including weeks of telemetry unit coverage
  • Participate in the medicine call schedule with a 1:9 frequency of night call
  • Engage in an outpatient general internal medicine practice to support the growing need for internal medicine services
  • Support local educational activities, including teaching UBC medical students, Family Practice residents, and Internal Medicine residents
Benefits:
  • May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidy agreement
  • Relocation costs up to a maximum of $15,000
  • Rural CME: Years 3 & 4 - $3000/annum; after 4 years: $6000/annum
