Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled General Internal Medicine specialist to join our team at the Comox Valley Campus of the North Island Hospital. As a key member of our medical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the growth and development of our internal medicine services.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) certification or equivalent, and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. You will work collaboratively with our team of physicians to provide inpatient and outpatient care, including weeks of telemetry unit coverage and participation in the medicine call schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in an inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Participate in the medicine call schedule with a 1:9 frequency of night call
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our internal medicine services
  • Engage in educational activities, including teaching medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our hospital's policies and procedures
Benefits

As a member of our team, you may be eligible for additional remuneration through the Rural Subsidy agreement, including a fee premium, annual flat fee, recruitment incentive, relocation costs, and rural CME funding.
