Human Resources Strategist

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Strategist to join our team at Hunter Express Ltd.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing human resources policies and programs, advising managers and employees on policy interpretation, mediating labour disputes, and researching occupational classifications and job descriptions. Additionally, they will administer benefit employment equity programs, co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs, and research employee benefits and health and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement human resources policies and programs that align with company objectives.
- Advise management and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs, and collective agreements.
- MEDiate labour disputes and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
- Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scales.
- Administer benefit employment equity programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance.
- Research employee benefits and health and safety practices, recommending improvements to enhance employee well-being.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff to ensure a high-performing team.
- Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers, demonstrating strong negotiation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees and management.
- Judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in complex situations.
- Organized and efficient, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in challenging situations.
- Tight deadlines and large workload require excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
