About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team at Accounting Education. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts receivable operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and monitor incoming payments, ensuring timely and accurate recording of cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Verify and post receipts, maintaining accurate records and updating receivables as necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, obtaining information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and customers as needed.
  • Enter adjusting entries to resolve valid or authorized deductions, and follow pending deductions procedures for invalid or unauthorized deductions.
  • Coordinate with the collections department to resolve collections, examining customer payment plans, payment history, and credit line.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including invoice accounts and monthly transfers to the accounts receivable account.
  • Prepare and verify reports, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent business experience.
  • Proven working experience as an accounts receivable clerk, manager, or accountant.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills and a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software, such as JDE or other full-scale ER software.
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
