Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations, using precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials, to create precise and durable structures.
- Prepare and submit tenders and quotations for construction projects, taking into account factors such as materials, labor, and timelines.
- Build and install foundations, floor beams, subflooring, walls, and roof systems, ensuring that all structures are safe, secure, and meet building codes.
- Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, paying close attention to detail and quality.
- Train and supervise apprentices and other workers, providing guidance and support to ensure that they meet the highest standards of workmanship.
- Estimate costs and materials for construction projects, taking into account factors such as budget, timeline, and resources.
- 1-2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
- Permanent employment with a reputable company.
- English language proficiency as the primary language of communication.
- 40 hours per week of work, with regular breaks and time off.
- Bending, crouching, and kneeling are required for this role, as well as the ability to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding environments.
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking is necessary for this role, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
