About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team at Superior Glove. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facility and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular inspections of the facility and equipment to identify and address potential issues.
  • Complete routine repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical work.
  • Maintain the outdoor premises, including grounds keeping, lawn mowing, and snow removal.
  • Provide support for the installation and modification of machinery and equipment.
  • Perform breakdown, preventative, and corrective maintenance on production department equipment.
  • Test and monitor machinery, and assist with changes or modifications as required.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and troubleshoot technical issues on production machinery.
  • Calibrate and test machinery, and install and assemble parts as per engineering specifications.
  • Organize and implement a schedule for semi-annual maintenance shutdown activities.
  • Establish schedules for routine maintenance and care of the property.
  • Clean and maintain the maintenance shop and other areas of the facility.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers as needed.
  • Ensure building work requests are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation for reference and audit purposes.
  • Act as a backup for the warehouse area, including shipping, receiving, and operating a forklift.
Requirements
  • Technical and/or vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field, combined with 2 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion during a shift, and 10 pounds during regular duties.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to critically analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
  • General verbal and numerical intelligence.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Drive and initiative to execute accurately and on time.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
