About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geologist to join our team at the Geological Survey Division of the Department of Natural Resources and Renewables. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing strategic projects and programs that characterize onshore to offshore processes that drive erosion, sediment transport, and deposition.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in sedimentary geoscience and experience in working with multiple spatial and temporal scales of analysis. You will apply integrative geoscientific methodologies and technologies in process-based, 'source to sink' terrestrial and marine basin dynamic systems modeling to better inform Nova Scotia's climate change adaptation strategies.

You will work at a high level of complexity and independence to identify climate change-related geoscience data and knowledge gaps and related risks across multiple sectors. You will plan, design, and deliver geoscientific project-based research that may include a broad range of scientific and technical partners across multiple sectors and disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to build positive and productive relationships across government and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and partners. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

We offer a dynamic and engaging work environment, with opportunities for career development and growth. If you are a motivated and experienced geoscientist looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
