About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Indigenous Relations Manager to join our team at The MEARIE Group. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with Indigenous communities, promoting collaboration and mutual understanding.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indigenous relations, experience working with Indigenous communities, and excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain trust-based relationships with Indigenous communities, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between The MEARIE Group and Indigenous communities, providing comprehensive support and information on our regulatory processes.
  • Representation: Represent The MEARIE Group at meetings with Indigenous communities, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with our team to create and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy, ensuring effective participation from Indigenous communities.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Indigenous Studies, Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience: 7 years' experience in the energy sector or related field, with experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge of issues affecting Indigenous communities, including the Crown's Duty to Consult, social and economic implications of energy sector activities, and relevant legislation.
  • Language: Strong oral and written communication skills, including formal presentations to audiences.

  • Competitive Salary: We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
