Indigenous Relations Specialist

This position supports the team's efforts in Indigenous Relations by researching, analyzing, and preparing various documents to advance business objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with team members to ensure deadlines are met and support the development of presentations, proposals, reports, and contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Support the preparation of reports, briefing materials, and presentation decks for senior staff, management, and external agencies.
- Plan and coordinate special events and meetings, manage agendas, action logs, and meeting minutes.
- Liaise with Indigenous communities and organizations, and follow up with Metrolinx departments to ensure action items are progressing.
- Work with internal subject matter experts to maintain accurate and transparent public-facing information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups to improve efficiency and the customer experience.
- Completion of a diploma in Indigenous Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in Indigenous Relations, Communications, Political Science, or similar roles.
- Fluent knowledge of English is essential for this communications function.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills to articulate and present advice and recommendations.
- Intermediate experience with MS Office and data management skills.
- Valid G Driver's Licence and a Driver's Abstract.
