Indigenous Relations Specialist

Metrolinx is seeking a skilled Indigenous Relations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Indigenous Relations Office, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
Key Responsibilities- Support the preparation of reports, briefing materials, and presentations for senior staff and management, as well as external agencies.
- Plan and coordinate special events and meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with Indigenous communities and organizations.
- Liaise with internal subject matter experts and teams to ensure accurate and transparent public-facing information.
- Work with cross-functional groups to improve efficiency and customer experience while supporting operational goals and objectives.
- Support the implementation of corporate-wide initiatives and strategies by collaborating with different business units.
- Diploma in Indigenous Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in Indigenous Relations, Communications, Political Science, Public Relations, or similar roles.
- Fluent knowledge of the English language.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills to articulate and present advice, options, and recommendations to colleagues.
- Intermediate experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid G Driver's Licence in good standing.
