About the Opportunity
Mt. Royal University invites applications for a contract lecturer position in the area of Communications, commencing September 2024.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering foundation level courses in General Education's Cluster-Four, 'Communications'. We are seeking a qualified candidate with a well-developed understanding of liberal education and able to identify and address key debates under the cluster's thematic orientation.
The Department of General Education delivers the General Education programme within all of Mt. Royal's baccalaureate degrees. The programme is organized around four thematic clusters. The aim of those courses taught in the Communications cluster is to:
• Focus on the development of an undergraduate level of proficiency in written and oral communication across a range of media.
• Facilitate the development of a capacity for critical reflection upon various communication media and their uses.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• A completed or near-completion PhD or terminal degree in the area of communications.
• A strong understanding of liberal education principles and practices.
We offer a competitive salary package: $85,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
