Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Research Program Coordinator to join our team in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the department's research program, including coordinating grant applications, managing research accounts, and providing guidance on funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:- Research Program Support:
- Provide administrative support to the department's research program, including coordinating grant applications, managing research accounts, and providing guidance on funding opportunities.
- Assist researchers with preparing and submitting grant applications, including drafting proposals, budgets, and reports.
- Manage research accounts, including tracking expenses, reconciling financial statements, and analyzing data to prepare reports.
- Act as liaison between researchers and external funding agencies, communicating with them on behalf of the department.
- Postgraduate Residency & Fellowship Training Program Support:
- Assist with planning and coordinating annual research events, including Resident Research Day, Sorbie Day, and other academic events.
- Coordinate with the PGME office to prepare the Academic Schedule(s) for Orthopaedics, including drafting, updating, and distributing the schedule.
- Organize all aspects of Ortho Speciality Days, including scheduling guest speakers, booking classrooms and equipment, and preparing agendas.
- Orthopaedic Divisional Support:
- Assist with budget development and management, ensuring financial objectives are achieved and administering and overseeing the division's financial accounts.
- Provide administrative support to the division, ensuring all guidelines are met, and acting as secretary to monthly division meetings, quarterly research rounds, and annual staff retreats.
- Manage non-clinical meeting schedules for the Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery and oversee clinical allocation and redistribution of special request clinics for the division.
- Completion of a university degree, plus several years of experience in research coordination, project management, or financial management.
- Previous experience in office administration, preferably in a university setting.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures, as well as PeopleSoft systems, is considered an asset.

Salary:$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
