The Opportunity:
The City of Red Deer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant to join its Legislative Services team. As a key member of the team, you will provide administrative support to the City Clerk and high-level office administration for the Legislative Services Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative assistance to the City Clerk, including preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and maintaining records.
- Assist with budgetary functions, including tracking department finances, preparing financial reports, and coordinating the annual budget process.
- Provide senior administrative support to the Manager of Legal and Legislative Services, including coordinating projects, preparing correspondence, and maintaining confidential records.
- Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Exercise sound judgment, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
Requirements:
- Two-year Diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration, or related field.
- Three or more years of related experience, including experience with budgeting, financial processing, and learning financial software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
- Commissioner for Oaths, or ability to obtain.

$34.10 to $35.89 per hour
Hours of Work:
75 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, some evening and weekend work may be required when needed.
